WHAT CAMERA + LENS DO YOU USE?
I use the Canon Rebel T3i and two lenses: Canon EFS 18-55mm IS IIand Canon EFS 55-200mm f/4-5.6 IS II.
WHAT PROGRAMS DO YOU USE TO EDIT?
I use Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom to catalog and edit my images. I start by importing my pictures into Lightroom so that they are organized, cataloged and saved. Then I make basic adjustments, and import into Photoshop for further enhancements. There are many times that Lightroom presets do the job, though!
*Note* - I rarely use Photoshop Actions. I am fond of Photoshop PSD layers/overlays that I can easily change without having to wait through all the motions of an Action.
WHY SPIRITUALITY WITH PHOTOGRAPHY?
I highly believe that without my spirituality, I would not ever have accomplished graduating and started a photography career. With my spirituality comes mindfulness in every step that I take - from the lens I use, to the edits afterwards. Not to mention incorporating many of my spiritual acts and beliefs into my photography.
HOW DO YOU INCORPORATE SPIRITUALITY INTO YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY?
Well, a part of my belief system is based on chakras. I firmly believe that there are many things that can balance your seven main chakras, meditation being one. Break that down even further to visual meditation, and that's what my photography provides. I incorporate the colors of the seven main chakras into my photography so that you can focus on the corresponding chakra and use the image as a visual cleanser. Also, you can see here that I use a "faded" effect on most of my images. The reason I do this is because, not only does it make those images stand out from the regularly saturated images in the nature photography field, but also because it brings a certain kind of peace that corresponds with the meditative mood I try to bring to the images.
